THE REVAMP

Its been a while...

The reason the last post was from December 2014 is because exams happened. I've recently sat my AS Level exams in Photography, English Language, Geography and Sociology but now that I'm (almost) work-free for the summer I've decided to devote some of my free time to revamping this blog.
I plan to write and post whatever I fancy. I want to share some of my favourite photography projects as well as the random babble of my thoughts in some opinion writing or response pieces. Journalism is one of my options for university so this is a way to have a bit of practise as well as just have some fun.
Of course my love affair with make-up and clothes is still going strong so I'll share some stuff that I think is worth sharing too - the lipstick obsession never dies.

So that's what's been going on and what is to follow.

THE STRIPE TSHIRT DRESS // autumn ootd

H&M DRESS / H&M COAT / FOREVER 21 BAG / H&M NECKLACE / PRIMARK TIGHTS / MAC ALL FIRED UP LIPSTICK
I have a new-found-love for dresses. Never previously liking them for day-wear, afraid of looking too formal, I've been converted. The best place for casual dresses I've found is H&M, where I've purchased 3 and I love them. This striped basic t-shirt dress is the newest edition and I am in love with how effortless it looks. They are SO easy and comfortable to wear, and I have a feeling this dress will get so much wear all year round. It's the first t-shirt dress I've ever owned and I love how it looks with black tights and an oversized blazer, keeping it neutral. My style has definitely changed from more patterned, colourful pieces, to more simple, plain pieces -  which are probably more boring, but are so easy to wear.Yet wearing neutrals, I can't be without a bold lip, and I've opted for Mac's matte lipstick in All Fired Up, which probably isn't the most autumnal shade, but love how it looks with this outfit anyway.

What are you wearing this autumn?

THE MOM JEANS // autumn ootd

the floor was obviously extremely interesting...
I cannot remember how long it's been since I posted an outfit of the day, but today I bring an autumn one, featuring some new additions to my wardrobe.

My jacket is a blazer from H&M and I love the simple, smart style of it. Great for autumn weather, as it isn't too warm, and goes with everything.  I bought this a few sizes up as I love the oversized look in coats.

I made the decision to purchase my first ever pair of Topshop jeans, and initially had my eye on some Jamie ones. Though, looking around the denim section (so much choice) I came across these Mom Jeans, which I'd never have thought of trying on, but was curious to see what they'd look like...and I fell in love. They're super comfy, and a high-waisted style which I find really flattering.

I feel like this is the start of a beautiful, yet expensive relationship with Topshop denim.

Any Topshop jean fans?

seaside attire (take two)

dress + sunglasses : h&m / bag: forever 21 / sandals: primark
If you've read my last post, you'll know I was wrapped up in leggings and a jacket for the seaside. Yet, the very next day I wore this...british weather confuses me. As there were pretty flowers and a flowery dress to go with it, I thought I'd share my outfit.

I am in love with this loose fitting smock-style dress from h&m. I already have a blue paisely-patterned which I wear all the time, so I decided another would be a good investment. I think it was around £12.99. I chose my trusty Forever 21 faux leather zippered bag to pair with the dress, as well as my favourite H&M sunnies and white Primark sandals.

whats your favourite thing to wear in the summer?

seaside attire (...not quite)

it was windy...

Hello! I recently visited the ever-so-sunny british coast and loved this back-drop, so decided to take a few outfit photos. Obviously, being England, it wasn't your usual seaside outfit as it was abit windy and chilly...

My jacket is my new favourite thing ever and it featured in my recent haul. It was from Topshop and in the sale for an amazeballs £15. My t-shirt was actually a hand-me-down from a friend who didn't want it, which I was super happy to receive as I love it, and it's from H&M. I chose leggings as they're so comfy compared to jeans, and wore my usual white converse. To add abit of colour I wore my new Topshop Lipstick (also featured in the haul) in The Damned, which is a gorgeous purply/plum shade.

...perhaps an autumnal outfit, but practical and one I absolutely love!

styling tips for surviving the rainy, windy british summer?

sale haul // topshop + miss selfridge

Hello! I've been shopping in the sales recently and have found some gorgeous pieces at pretty amazing discounts so I thought I'd show you what I bought!
TOPSHOP
DRESS // £15 FROM £35
Here's my story...I went into Topshop looking for a lipstick and came out with two items of clothing...and no lipstick. I found this dress, tried it on and fell in love. It's from a brand called WallG and it's a gorgeous bluey/green colour, with pleates and a cross-over,  neck line detail.

JACKET // £15 FROM £48
Bargain of the month goes to.... I saw this hanging on the rail and picked it up...I was intrigued. It's not something I'd normally go for, but I tried it on and thought I'd be perfect for unpredictable British weather as it's lightweight, and also great for the summer-autumn transition. I absolutely love the stitching as it's subtle but still unique, and such a steal at just £15 from £48.
TOPSHOP LIPS IN THE DAMNED // £8
As I didn't find the lipstick I wanted in the Topshop I bought the above items ^^ I went to another on the hunt for it and found it in the smaller store of the two. This wasn't a sale item but wanted to include it as it was in my last post of 'Lips and Highlighter Wishlist', which I'd written before I bought this. The formula is perfect and so creamy and moisturising, yet a beautiful velvet finish and good staying power. The colour is everything I love: purply-plum and bright. Really comparable to Mac Rebel...dupe alert.

MISS SELFRIDGE
BEADED TOP // £15 FROM £35
I've never bought anything from Miss Selfridge because, quite frankly, they really need to chill with their prices. So of course I had a rummage through their sale and came across this heavily beaded white top. I'd always seen the embroidered tops and dresses in Miss Selfridge but the prices stopped me investing. This was £15 so I grabbed it and I think it's gorgeous, and can be dressed up or down.
TK MAXX
PURSE // £7 ORIGINALLY £45
TK Maxx's items are all discounted anyway, but I've been after a new purse for ages and after seeing this one from the brand Lloyd Baker London (I haven't heard of it either) for £7 I knew I had to have it. It's real leather and a gorgeous light blue which I love. The inside is also so pretty with black and white pinstripe detail, which adds a twist.

So those are my recent purchases! The sales are pretty amazing at the moment, so definitely have a rummage...it's definitely worth it!

What have you picked up recently?

orange

h&m kimono, top and necklace // forever 21 bag // model's own beach party (chipped)  nails

For my first fashion post, (please forgive the mirror shot) I wanted to share a trend I'm loving at the moment : orange. I went shopping in London last week and decided I really wanted something orange after seeing it everywhere in the shops. I picked up this casual top from H&M for £3.99, which I already own in black...orange is the new black hey? I love the bold colour, and decided to pair it with all black items to balance it out. This bag is also new and was £23 from Forever 21 - I love it, its the perfect size and goes with everything.

What trends have you been loving?

topshop sale | jewellery finds

I've never been one to buy from Topshop very regularly, but as they were having a sale I decided to pop in and have a look. None of the clothes really took my fancy, but I did have a nose around the jewellery section and found these two necklaces which I loved.

I love how the designs are so simple and versatile and can definitely see myself wearing these all year round!

The best part? They cost me £2.50 each.

Any one found some bargains in the sales recently?
